What we believe?

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. There is only one God.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

The Bible is God’s Word to us. Human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and destroys the life God planned for us.

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved.

ABOUT Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.

Christian Living - How then shall we live?

Because God created us with a free will, a believer may choose to rebel against God and forfeit the saving relationship with Christ. This is not an accidental event. It is the result of an ongoing pattern of deliberate rebellion. Even so, God continues to reach out to us and draw us back to Himself.

God wants every believer to love and obey Him completely. Sanctification is the process God uses to deal with that part of the human will which resists Him and tends toward deliberate sin. When we surrender completely to God, He cleanses us and fills us with His Holy Spirit. This enables us to desire God’s will above our own and to experience greater power over temptation than we have ever known.

Every person who accepts Jesus Christ as Savior receives the Holy Spirit, and is given special abilities to be used in service for the Lord. There are as wide a variety of these gifts as there are needs and personalities. God chooses which gift each individual believer receives. While we do not seek to limit any personal and private expression of faith, we believe that only a language readily understood by the entire group is appropriate to use in any gathering of the church.

We’ve been set free to live as Jesus did and help set others free. It is a life defined by freedom and love for all. Therefore, we believe the Christian life is to be a journey free of addiction and dependence on any chemical substance, activities, or material things such as drugs, alcohol, or gambling. These idols get in the way of our singular and devoted worship of God in all that we do. We believe the Bible teaches our dependence is on God for all things.

We affirm that sexual relationships outside of marriage and sexual relationships between persons of the same sex are not God’s original plan for healthy relationships. We further affirm that heterosexual monogamy is God’s plan for marriage, and we regard sexual sin of the spouse, such as adultery, homosexual behavior, bestiality or incest, as the only biblical grounds for considering divorce, and then only when appropriate counseling has failed to restore the relationship.

New Life In The Kingdom

As new creations that have been transformed into Kingdom citizens, representatives, and ambassadors, we believe the Bible teaches us to do good as much as is possible to all people as God gives opportunity, especially to those in the body of Christ; by giving food to the hungry, by clothing the destitute, by visiting or helping those who are sick or in prison; by instructing, correcting or encouraging them in love. To respect the inherent individual rights of all persons, regardless of race, color, or sex. To live honestly, be just in all dealings and faithful in all commitments.
